१९ नंबर (19 Number, 2017) is Anmol Mani’s second anthology of short stories. In this collection, the stories vividly depict social irregularities and the conflicts that arise from them, expressed with artistic finesse. Through the perspective of the middle class- their endless aspirations, shifting ideals of beauty, and everyday struggles- Mani explores significant social issues: violence against women, the shortcomings of Nepal’s education system and the mindset it cultivates, the disillusionment following the Maoist conflict, and the emotional turmoil of migration coupled with nostalgia for one’s homeland. The language throughout is simple, rhythmic, and deeply evocative.

In सबुत (Evidence, 2012), poet Anamol Mani invites readers into a poetic landscape shaped by love, loss, tragedy, nostalgia, and the enduring impact of political conflict in Nepali society. Across thirty-three poems, Mani reflects on what remains as time moves forward- what we carry with us, what we let go of, and what demands to be remembered. The collection opens a dialogue between the individual and the collective: the intimate wounds of love and loss echo the broader social and cultural scars left by Nepal’s prolonged internal conflicts. Each poem becomes both witness and archive- preserving the emotional and historical evidence of a nation’s experience. Ultimately, Sabut offers more than a catalogue of feelings; it stands as an act of bearing witness.

नीलिमा र गाढा अँध्यारो (Neelima and Pitch Darkness, 2009) marks Anamol Mani’s debut anthology of short stories. The collection features around a dozen pieces that explore diverse themes- urban life, love and loss, war and its psychological aftermath (with particular reference to Nepal’s Maoist insurgency), scientific innovation (such as test-tube babies and cloning), cyber culture, and the friction between tradition and modernity.
What sets this work apart in Nepali literature is its incorporation of science, technology, and cloning- subjects rarely found in earlier Nepali fiction. Through its portrayal of Kathmandu capital city of Nepal's urban landscape intertwined with global and technological motifs, the anthology captures a vivid snapshot of Nepali society’s transition in the 21st century.
Readers interested in speculative fiction grounded in realism- encompassing elements like cloning, artificial reproduction, and metaphorical depictions of war trauma- will find नीलिमा र गाढा अँध्यारो a compelling and forward-looking read.

नदी किनारमा उभिएर (Standing by the River) is Anamol Mani’s first book, published in 2002. The collection features ghazals, a poetic form made up of rhyming couplets- each expressing a complete thought or emotion. Originating in Arabic and later flourishing in Persian, Urdu, and Nepali literature, the ghazal is celebrated for its musicality, repetition, and its delicate exploration of love and longing. In this collection, Anamol Mani’s ghazals probe into themes of love, loss, yearning, and the pain of separation. Some of these ghazals have even been composed and sung by renowned Nepali singers. The book contains a total of 45 ghazals, each offering a glimpse into the poet’s emotional and lyrical world.
